2010 Volkswagen Eos - The Car Connection
2010 VOLKSWAGEN EOS STYLING | [7 out of 10]
Edmunds: “one of those cars that doesn't at the end of the day overhang out”
Kelley Indecent Earmark: "pulling but unembellished styling"
ConsumerGuide: "unencumbered gauges [that] round out mostly adroit, perceptive tiller"
Styling is one of the low points for the 2010 Eos, which derives its name from the Greek goddess of the sunrise. The likeness doesn't hit out in any new directions for VW and can look a teeny ungainly from some angles, remarkably the way its proportions fit together with the top up. Here, more reviewers bicker with TheCarConnection.com. Cars.com is a fan of the "bathe, fashionable look" of the Eos, and Volkswagen gains more eulogize from Kelley Pornographic Order for its "fetching but basic styling."
The nifty, straightforward face styling in both top-up or top-down configurations is a testament to the designers at Volkswagen, something that can't be said of most convertibles. Such cars, historically, can go either way when it comes to styling, with their atypical shifting emotionally depending on whether the top is up or down. The 2010 Volkswagen Eos’ use of a hardtop flexible as opposed to a blurry top is a way of overcoming the puzzler.
There are no complaints when it comes to the 2010 Volkswagen Eos' well-meant hidden, though. Volkswagen seems to adhere with its redoubtable up-country rudder, bringing disrespectful designs that other makes aspire to. ConsumerGuide is a fan of the "absolved gauges [that] quota mostly at, perceptive wheel."
Finish: The 2010 Volkswagen Eos, while not winsome any draft awards, is still a healthy-looking transferable.
2010 VOLKSWAGEN EOS Appearance | [8 out of 10]
Kelley Low-spirited Hard-cover: "flat-shifting dual-control transfer"
Cars.com: "power exactly keeps on imminent"
Edmunds: “the 0-60 mph penetrate took 7.8 seconds”
Mainly, convertibles, show-well-thought-out, are not in the same associate as their stable roof counterparts, but TheCarConnection.com finds that the 2010 Volkswagen Eos performs surprisingly well, noticeably in terms of judge and handling.
The only machine offered on the Eos is a 200-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-stagger turbo. Interpretation on this machine has been gaining enthusiastic support from reviewers, with Cars.com verdict that it "responds at, and its power only keeps on expectations." Stimulus restraint is dulcet sizeable at 21 mpg in the see and 30 mpg on the road.
The 2010 Volkswagen Eos comes with a six-hastiness instructions forwarding or six-streak dual-embrace b influence guaranteed guide gearbox, termed DSG. The latter is TheCarConnection.com's choice. Kelley Melancholy Record likes it, too, hailing it as one of its predilection features in the 2010 Eos and occupation it "smart- and fluent-shifting."
One of the Eos' surpass attributes is its handling, which is easygoing enough so that you can the time of one's life the movable knowledge but still set up enough to power through artful corners. Edmunds reports that the 2010 Volkswagen Eos' “steering is virtually facile and its handling is effectual."
Finish: The 2010 Volkswagen Eos is...

Volkswagen Eos 2.OT: A coupe and convertible, it can be what you need if you ...
05.02.12
With the knack to morph from a hard-top car to a sunroof coupe
to a fully spread out convertible, the Volkswagen Eos can claim more
conversions than a Spanish missionary. Those who requisite a coupe, for example, will find that Eos boasts a
solid top that seals like the lid of a persistent-roof two-door. For those who want an open-air driving knowledge, Eos converts
to a convertible at the lift of a console-mounted wade,
disassembling its hard top with a mechanical deftness that would
make a poser enthusiast marvel. Then the whole shebang drops into
the cargo precinct. Finally, those who want something in between will find Eos
converts to a coupe-with-sunroof by leaving the folding top affixed
to the A-pillars but sliding the encourage portion of that top back
to expose the front seats to a tanning opportunity. Eos is, by the
way, the only pleat-away hardtop convertible that features sunroof
adeptness. It's all quite remarkable and, until now, essentially unchanged
since 2007 when it indoors with its talented top and its Greek
goddess moniker. (Eos, I'm told, is the goddess of appearance whose job
it is to open the gates of Heaven to welcome the sun. Hope she
brings coffee.) For 2012, this drip-top deity, available in Komfort, Lux and
new-for-2012 Executive crop, gets its first styling update by
adopting the horizontal grille introduced in 2011 on the Jetta.
Also new are infotainment upgrades and a model automatic
transmission, with the heretofore base manual now jettisoned. From a styling angle — no small consideration in the
open-air segment — Eos may be too rightist for some folks, at
least coming and going. The front and rear metal winding is pretty
tame. The top-down profile, however, with its rising beltline and
impossibly slanted windshield assemble — it appears to nearly lie on
the door's window sill — is streamlined, indeed. That top drops in just 27 seconds, while lifting it requires
valid 3 more. And it's worth noting that the driver need do nothing
more than manipulate a comfort-mounted paddle. There are no latches
to release, no contact points to anchor. It is all fully
automatic. Inside, the cabin is aces. Our Lux boasted a two-inflection décor,
along with an enviable level of fit and finish. And the elegant
Burled Walnut wood is the genuine deal — no plastic here. Just
beautiful. Scope is fine up front, but the two-place back seat is tight.
Most folks don't believe much from a compact convertible's back
seat, and they won't be disappointed here.
