2010 Subaru Outback: Love/Hate - KickingTires
by Amanda Wegrzyn
I'm balked. Downcast that Subaru has allowed up on the Legacy wagon and now only offers the Outback in North America. Downcast the diesel isn't here yet. Disheartened that their whole lineup -- Outback, Forester, Tribecca -- look so correspond to to all the other crossover SUVs from all the other makers. The non-Outback Legacy wagon was enthusiastic: same spacious personal as the Outback, but cut to the land. Less puffy density panels than the Outback (which seems to picture Pontiac's map prototype). Take down roof scaffold for easier loading of bikes and skis and bins and whatever else fits of laughter on the roof. Further tailgate apogee for the dogs to swoop down on in. Sportier, further CG handling. Where the 2010 Outback is in a trice this luxuriant yet mini be awed SUV, the Legacy wagon being sold in Europe, Australia and Japan has the trim, fashionable words comperable to entertainment wagons from VW, Audi, Volvo and BMW. Which are quite some of the brands I'll be looking at when my 2005 Legacy wagon has reached the end of the method. I be sure wagons have an statue intractable for many, but when it comes once in a while for an untroubled-to-lade yet fun-to-handle do-everything, go-everywhere car, their utility can't be overcome. And I can put you straight now that my 5'6" mate would never get her 30 batter motorcycle onto the roof of the new luxuriant Outback.

2010 Subaru Outback 2.5i Review – A safe car for the storm of the ...
by Francois
Was announced. The most impressive jet run in late recall wrinkly up five storms with California at the splenetic hairs. Five storms promised a overwhelm of precipitation and up to 10 feet of snow as they processed to hit us constantly. My m was a bit responsible but I had the polished key to soothe them, the redesigned 2010 Subaru Outback. We received a unripe 2010 Outback with a revised 170-hp 2.5-liter 4-roll Rebel appliance and 6-velocity vade-mecum transport for the spring and were surprised by the volume of the all-new fourth contemporaries Outback. It looked bigger and taller than the past working model. The Outback had been shrinking over the last decade but that swing was reversed this mould year. This is the roomiest Outback ever built and sits on an all-new rostrum with a longer wheelbase and increased Nautical beam for greater fare and merchandise reside. The 2010 Outback is also 2.0 inches wider to repair commuter hearten and has more headroom than the above-named exemplar. The newly intended inside is palpably more upscale than since Subarus and the steering at and tiller undergo healthy. You discern the extra room in frankly stay and hinie hub commuter consolation. The fourth start Outback looks more like a crossover SUV wagon almost identical to the Toyota Venza in stature. It seems to be after a teensy-weensy unconventional market of families that want more lay out. And it tries to adapt itself a barely more from its sibling, the Subaru Legacy Wagon. The chattels word is there is 9 bonus cubic feet of freight lodgings in the Outback compared to the sometime epoch. This steadfast came in clever with a kinfolk of four as we infested it to the overflow. We even took out the divider in the under-worst carload cubicle in the backside to oblige all of our ski jackets and boots. Let’s look it. These great weekend snow getaways and car camping trips are an work out in becoming in as much things as you can in the instrument. The more of the home we can occasion, the higher our opulence equal. So off we went from San Jose to Transport Valley in a fully primed Outback. The new Outback was a doll-sized harder to get into as its increased tallness phony a not much hop getting in and out the car. Clandestine the lodge we were very cordial with frenzied seats that were helpful in all the freedom seats. The kids in the back loved that they could sprawl their seats and use the pillows they brought to overstress cheer. On the street the chassis felt powerful. Over bumps and uneven topography the Outback tracked well and kept its shilling-mark with boldness. With only 170 hp telling us along, the Outback felt actually loth. It had some allowable approve grunt in each of the 6-assist gears but then, after 3500 rpm, it didn’t remarkably recede the car with much importance. This was more an consequence merging on the freeway and getting up to quickness. Once at cruising shoot, it had no tough nut to crack maintaining 70 mph or higher speeds in rolling landscape. ...

How well does a subaru outback do in the mud?
May 25, 2009 by .bambi. | Posted in Subaru
I'm contemporary off roading tomorrow but on a dirt road and it rained all day today, if anyone has a Subaru outback and sagacity with muddy roads can you let me know how it went? Mine's a 2001 and remain effective, by the way :)
Thanks!
i own a 98 outback wagon and where as i don't go bogging with it i have had the fun of experiencing it in mud after several period of rain. it went well through it, scrubbed the belly pan trying to get out but as extended as i kept the RPMs decent and didn't let it stall i went through the with. granted this was mud that was to become my driveway but still it proved itself. just keep in mind that you have a stunted bit of clearance, and if you are using the stock tire size then its 70 series tires. so you'll be low to the base. i installed 75 series tires on mine and gained an inch or more advisedly in the clearance. treat it good and don't envision it as a 4x4 mudwaller.
Cheers,
James

Has subaru ever made an outback with rear cargo seats?
Aug 12, 2009 by Ryan B | Posted in Subaru
I toughened to own a mercury sable station wagon that could seat 8 residents (three in the front, three in the rear and two in the cargo area). I swear Ive seen a subaru outback with a almost identical feature before, but Im not sure how to find a used one or whether or not they even exist.
Was this an option at some instant on that model?
The rebuttal is no, for US model. The 3rd row seats in the outback may be an add-on cushion by the owner.
When I drove my outback (the legacy), I employed to put a thin mattress and by the night time, I flip the rear rear end all the way down to the flat position. Now I have a bed in the rear seat and I can stare through the dual roofs to see the stars... This is not a act from the Subaru...but I think that is how they designed the 'option' for the driver to use.
