I have a 2005 Saab 9-3 and am looking for some fun aftermarket parts to enhancement the performance but am finding it is harder than expected. Does Borla, Flowmaster, etc. have exhausts for a 05' Saab 9-3?

there are a quite a few car profiles - such as yours - where there is little or for all practical purposes no performance aftermarket, as simply demand does not abide to drive design/production.

so creating performance parts is achievable using "universal fit" performance artefact , like here.

this will give you a better sound, but be advised a stand alone placement of a performance exhaust system may give you a little hp boost at the crank, but nothing that will be singular in the drive.

for general performance increase, a performance weary system, catback has to be done in combination with:
-installation of cold air intake and throttle trunk spacer
-performance headers
-re tune of engine command system (performance chip, tuning chip or pro tune)

together these will be conspicuous yielding about 15% plus increase over stock hp, and with headers much of that will be delivered to the wheels.

so if you indigence sound, go for the exhaust installation but if you want performance you may have to search out what is at for your car in respect to the other installations above - i suspect you may have either very limited, and or very expensive options

How do I change the bulbs in the HVAC panel of a 2004 Saab 9-3 Linear?

I well-founded bought a 2004 Saab 9-3 Linear (4 Entry) for my fiancee and it looks like one of the bulbs behind the HVAC is burned out. At tenebriousness the bottom left hand side (the area around the temp knob) is not lit, and it's rather maddening. Autozone couldn't tell me which bulb to buy or how to get behind the panel to entrance the dead bulb. Can anyone tell me if there is an easy way to get back there?

Take your progressive hand and gently grip the temp knob and level so that the side of the MCC panel dislodges itself slighty. Do the same to the other side. Pull the unscathed unit out of its perch. Note: There are no screws holding this component in. When the 2 connectors are visible, use a small screwdriver inserted at the miniature slot between the red connector and the body of the unit. Open the connector until you pick up or feel a detent click. This is as far you will have to go to disengage the connector from the entity.
Installation is the reverse of the above. If you look closely you will see three black tuber sockets. Twist the sockets counterclockwise and remove the mannered one. Go to your SAAB dealer and have them give you the correct bulb. I believe it is a 5 watt tuber. Note, if the headlamp switch is not in the extreme left position, the MCC panel will not clarify.

I'm thoughtful about getting a 2002 Saab 9-3 SE and just found out the systems requirements to be upgraded to digital. How much does it cost? Is it worth it? How extensive does the installation cost?

I called OnStar with the punctilious same question a few months ago, and their response was basically, "Deplorable, we are no longer supporting the OnStar system that your car uses... we would be opportune to provide OnStar support for you with a newer vehicle. OnStar has no plans at this once upon a time to convert the analog systems to digital."

My assumption is that if there was a replacement system somewhere, I doubt that it would be worth the cost. Installation would be justly simple, I'm guessing, since all they would have to do is rip out the old Onstar ECU and put in a new one.... since my onstar died, I stony to just remove the entire unit. Not very difficult to do.
