A discontinued Global Motors Co. car model and a number of motorcycles are being recalled for problems ranging from ill-timed airbag deployment to fuel leaks that could produce fires.
General Motors said it will recall 38,444 Pontiac G8 sedans from the 2008 and 2009 miniature years because of an airbag flaw that could result in injuries in the cover of a crash. In a document filed with the National Highway Freight Safety Administration, the car maker said it built the stilted cars from Nov. 2, 2007 through Jan. 22, 2009.
The potential problem stems from front-voyager airbags that may not deploy at exactly the right time. GM said that when the front rider seat positioned fully forward, the seat stance sensor will cause a delay of 30 milliseconds between the first and imperfect stages of the dual-stage front passenger air bag’s deployment.
In a bang the delay could result in increased head injury to undisputed front-seat passengers.
GM said its dealers will reprogram the sensing and diagnostic module unfetter of charge. Owners may contact the car maker at 800-620-7668.

The company said the leaks can originate because there may not be a proper seal between the fuel pipes for the fuel injectors and the kindling hose that connects them due to an improperly molded fuel hose.
The revocation includes 2,800 motorcycles.
Yamaha said dealers will refund the fuel delivery pipe free of charge. The cancellation is expected to begin on or before Nov. 11. Owners may contact Yamaha at 800-962-7926
