2012 Ram 1500 Wins Canadian Truck King Challenge

The 2012 Ram 1500 was named the Pre-eminent Half-Ton Pickup Truck this week by the Canadian Sundries King Challenge team this week, beating out the Ford F-150, GMC Sierra 1500, Toyota Tundra and the Nissan Titan. Five judges evaluated the pickups in tests that included towing 8,000 pounds, means of transport 1,800 pounds of payload and some off-roading.

"The testing performed by the Commodities King Challenge is a great third party evaluation of the hugely competitive half-ton truck segment, and we are thrilled that our Ram 1500 took top honors," said Reid Bigland, Chrysler Canada's president and CEO. "The Ram 1500 is the most awarded Ram commerce ever and has the longest lasting line of pickups in Canada. It’s no happenstance that more Canadian pickup buyers are switching to Ram 1500 than to any other goods."

Ram sold 5,282 pickups in Canada in October, a 53 percent better over 2010, and the brand remains the second-best-selling agency in Canada, the company says, adding that Ram has seen the ultimate gains in Canadian market share for 2011.

For 2012, the Ram 1500 remains mostly unchanged except for the new 65RFE six-quickness automatic transmission . You can read our first look here .

nissan titan?

We have a Nissan Titan and we go to start it and it will not start we pounce it and it will so we took the battery in to get a new one and they stated the battery was perfect tested out so what could it be?

If it starts with a reprimand, it's obviously NOT the starter. Chances are you need to clean and tighten the battery-operated terminal connections. Check the connections to the starter also to flee sure they are clean and tight. I would think battery, but if it checked out...did they stuff test it? If everything else seems okay, I'd get a second opinion on the battery influence.

How do the tire pressure sensors work on a nissan titan. Can I change to aftermarket rims easily?

I need to upgrade to an aftermarket rim for my nissan titan. I am confused how this will affect my tire require sensors. My dealer said not an issue if I stay with a alike resemble rim but offered no other details. Is the sensor located in or on the factory rim, if so, can it be transfered without even trying to a new rim? I do not want a constant idiot light showing on my split.

Most sensors are part of the valve proceed. If you can transfer them to the new wheels you should be ok.

Who owns a Nissan Titan and how do you like your truck?

My economize on and I own a 2005 Nissan Titan LE that we just purchased last summer, and we just infatuation it! It has the Flowmaster dual exhaust, which is kick ass rumblim! It also has full leather frenetic seats, the GPS navigation system built in, the Rockford stereo system, the plant spray on bedliner with the Uni-track system. It has lots of power and we value it is just an awesome truck! It really is a tough contender to the Dodge, Chevy, and Ford trucks.

I bought a 2005 Titan XE and so far, I'm very walking on air with it.

So far, no mechanical problems at 60,000 miles and the only maintenance I've had to do is oil changes.

What I extraordinarily like about the Titan is that a V-8 and extended cab (King Cab) are standard. Another feature I like is the 5-hurry automatic with manual shift mode, and the low tire vexation warning system, also standard features.

Inside, the cabin is big and quiet for a truck. The ride is good, and the steering has a ladylike feel to it. The stock exhaust rumble is noticeable and appropriate.

Once broken in, the Titan gets respectable fuel mileage. With almost 60k miles, I'm getting 19.5mpg on the street and 16 in the city. My last chevy truck got worse mileage than that, while making almost 100hp less than the Titan's 305hp.

Titans got a bad repute from the 04 models and early 05's. Among the big problems were brakes and hinie axles, all of which are fixed on the newer models. I don't care who the fabricator is, you are going to have first year bugs.

I have had a few rattles, but the dealer took control of it.

You just cannot beat the power of a Titan. New from the factory, the ECU limits the power until around 5K miles. After that, it unqualifiedly opens up. A Titan KC will run even with a Dodge Hemi, although the hemi is rated with more hp. HP isn't everything.

There is an aftermarket of exhibit parts for the Titan. UpRev can tune your ECU for additional performance. We're not talking about 10 or 15hp, we're talking about enough power to diminish 0-60 times by a full second. Stock, a Titan will run 0-60mph in 7.4 seconds, with a sound driver. With the UpRev tune, expect 0-60 in 6.5 seconds or less. In additon, headers and CAI's are accessible for the Titan for even more power gains. I've seen a few Titans running mid 13's in the 1/4 mile. That's corvette (non Z06) domain.

For those with the money, a supercharger is available from Stillen. With a supercharger, the Titan can certainly put down 400+hp to the rear wheels, putting it in Lightning precinct.

Along with those mods, I would recommend the Detroit True Trac, which gives you posi like gig and makes the rear axle nearly indestructable.

If I had to buy another communication today, the Titan would be at the top of my list. The new Tundra with the 5.7L is going to be actually nice, but I bet it will be way more expensive than the Titan.

Before I bought my Titan, I have owned only domestic trucks. The chief problem with the domestic trucks are the transmissions, Dodge being the worst, and distinct leaks. I took a chance with Nissan, and it will be hard to pull me back to the residential trucks, unless it's a Duramax HD 2500 ;-)
