I comprehend, driving to Florida’s Gulf Coast isn’t the normal path from Michigan to Arizona, but I needed to visit my mother. So I was cruising days Exit 207 east of Sarasota on Interstate 75 when the odometer on my pickup merchandise clicked over from 149,999 to 150,000 and then on to 150,001 — and a few more clicks beyond.

Wowsers! One-hundred-and-fifty-thousand miles!

I’d never kept any conveyance long enough to see 100,000 miles show on its odometer, at least not until I bought this Nissan Frontier crew cab 4x4 in January 2000, about a month after telling from Michigan to Phoenix.

But then I’d never owned a pickup truck until I bought this one, an act that came as actually a surprise to my former co-workers at AutoWeek.

“But you hate pickup trucks!” one of them exclaimed after I shared advice of my purchase.

“I didn’t buy a pickup truck,” I protested. “I bought a lifestyle instrument.”

A few months before my move to from Midwest to far Southwest, I’d driven a Frontier from the Detroit gathering fleet to Nashville, Tenn., where my son was living. The truck was heavily weighted down on the trip down but was all but empty on the way back. I was impressed with the ride quality during each trip, singularly the lack of that basketball-style rear-end dribble I’d proficient in so many other pickups I’d driven as part of my duties as an automotive journalist.

Inspiring to Phoenix and knowing I’d want to explore unpaved portions of the Sonoran Wild — and often would have company visiting and riding along — the Frontier seemed a use choice for my new lifestyle. 

OK, what I really wanted was a production idea of the Nissan Gobi concept truck, but in its place the Frontier crew cab proved to be a rectitude choice for my new habitat. And not only for me, but for neighbors who borrow the truck from on one occasion to time for trips to places such as Lowe’s and Ikea. (These are egregious neighbors; they usually bring the truck back full of gas and often after they run it through a car wash.)

My Frontier has carried everything from some 1,200 pounds of shingle to all sorts of furniture and, lately, a quartet of kayaks.

Like Goldilocks, my Frontier is neither too big nor too diminutive but just the right size, part of the reason why it not only showed 100,000 on its odometer but now 150,000. And I look for someday that figure will be 200,000.

What is the top speed for a 2002 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab SE?

I would like to identify the top speed for a 2002 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab SE, 2 WD 6 CYL.

It cuts out at slight over 100mph. It has plenty of power left at 100 and could go much faster. The cheapest order of removing the limiter is to get a piggy back ECU

How to remove side window on 2001 nissan frontier crew cab.?

Im exasperating to remove the back left window of my 01 frontier crew cab. I got the panel out and took the bolts off the window, but i don't see how it can get out. Since its a "up" shape i can't rotate to able to get it out. Anyone that has any experience on how to take it off? Thanks.

Take out the rubber that goes in the avenue that the window sits in. You should be able the move the top of the glass outward enough to rub out it. You may need to remove the channel itself.

Is there ANY WAY to fit two subs into a 2001 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab?

I'm sensible about installing two 10" or 12" alpine type r's behind the back part seat of the truck. This is the only place that seems like it will actually calling. I can fit an amp under each one of the seats. I just wanna know if anyone has done this before and can give me any tips that would aid.

Definite thing..i have a buddy who actually put the subs in boxes and put them under the back seats..and then you could put the amp anywhere to very recently under the seat. Depending on how much money you want to spend..a shire car audio place could make a perfect fit box for the back and would make it look outgoing. so ya just measure yer truck and build some small sealed boxes to fit under your seats or behind them..prospect you get it to work!! good luck
