I was recently looking into purchasing this car and was wondering on what year did this alternative come available? I see on the older models the soft tops, and on the newer 05+ the straightforward top convertible. Thanks in advance
If you are asking about the R230 chassis SL with a retractable hardtop, it began in the later part of 2002 as a copy year 2003 vehicle, and as for the R129 chassis SL with a retractable permissive top I believe it began as a 1990 model year agency. hope this helps.

Older SLs, from the belated 1970s, did offer models that had tiny seats in the back, but not since then.
There is a pint-sized parcel shelf behind the seats, but there are no seats or seatbelts. Of progression, that doesn't mean Britney wouldn't shove her kids back there.
