The hood embroider is something that has mostly disappeared in car design. I kind of miss them. I think they add a definite flair to a vehicle.

So I was happy to see that my tester for the week, the 2012 Mercedes-Benz E550, had one.

That emblematical Mercedes logo roosted proudly on the hood of the E550, and rightfully so. The E550 is a agency that epitomizes Mercedes-Benz.

This five-person sedan combines high-class-quality luxury with top-notch engineering. No wonder that hood adornment was there, almost like a badge of approval.

And under that hood resides one sturdy, well-tuned engine. The 4.6-liter bi-turbo V-8 locomotive cranks out 402 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. And, as is the crate with most German vehicles, the E550 is not shy about letting the torque be felt.

The Mercedes-Benz E550 pulls like a haul train. New for this model year is a standard 4Matic all-hoop drive system that makes sure that freight train stays on the rails. And indeed, the E550 unconsciously grips the road as the engine works flawlessly with the 7-go like a shot driver-adaptive transmission.

Also new to this model year for the E-series is electromechanical steering (replacing a hydraulic steering system). All of this engineering is felt throughout the sound driving experience.

A meticulous interior does not let down, either. Black leather seats comfort all passengers, and the driver is unusually spoiled with extra lumbar support and a massaging mansion. Details such as the black ash wood trim and the high-rank materials make this Mercedes stand out as a luxury kind.

Subtle nuances highlight the E550's exterior layout. The sedan lacks garish styling, instead opting for easy, clean lines and a stout appearance. The grille is mutually understated, and the only real pizzazz is in the rear of the car where dual chrome tailpipes advice at its powerful side.

Despite such a big engine, the E550 remains comparatively fuel-efficient. EPA estimates are 16 city and 26 street. In a week's worth of heavy-footed driving, I averaged just about 21 mpg. Premium fuel is required and adds to the bring in.

The entire E-series is one of Mercedes' most versatile lines. There are five variants within the E-series, including a weighty station wagon that seats up to seven passengers, a four-commuter coupe and a convertible. Two sedan variants reside in the E350 series as well as the E550.

Because of this versatility, prices extend from $50,000 for the E350 model to more than $90,000 for the souped-up E63 AMG. My tester had an MSRP of $59,790, but with several upgraded packages, including the mockery tease package (with 18-inch AMG alloy wheels and lowered hold up to ridicule suspension), my tester came in at $75,655.

what is the difference between a Mercedes Benz E320 and a E 420?

I crave to get a more luxurious ride than my subaru. I really like the Mercedes-Benz E series from the mid to behindhand 90's. I've driven a few and love them, and am willing to bite the inefficient gas milage an 92 octane gas. But i can't seem to find differences between the E320 and the E420

The E320 is a 6 whirl. Up to '97 it has an inline 6 engine and from the '98 model year, it has a V6 ( both 3.2 litre displacement )

The E420 is up to the '97 archetype year and it has a 4.2 litre V8. There was a new V8 introduced in 1998 with a perceptible bump in displacement. It became the E430

How can I maintain my old Mercedes Benz 190 E model?

I regard my Benz 190 E model and would do anything to keep it in perfect condition. How or what do I do to keep in salutary shape all the time.

Get a oil interchange and new oil filter every 3,000 miles. Have it done at a reputable place, doesn't have to be a Benz dealership but at least a store that works on Mercedes cars. Always make sure it has the cure level of antifreeze in it. That is in the little jug behind the washer fluid jug on the propitious hand side under the hood. Make sure the transmission watery is correct AND clean, and have the fluid and filter changed at a weekly interval. ALWAYS pump nothing but premium/super unleaded gas, any gas under a 91 octane rating will wrecking the engine, give you less HP and make the motor run like crap. When the brakes strike one weak take it in for new brakes, a good shop will be able to emit on new pads and rotors if you need them . Do these simple things and your car will last for the ages.

Can someone help me with a true price on a Mercedes Benz E class?

I'm looking for an E 350 4-matic sedan with Encase 1 & 2. What would be the best price I could get off the dealer for this car?
I have knowledge of I could just go to Edmund's but I'm looking for a price from someone who possibly knows how the pricing works inside a Mercedes dealership. I'm doing this to keep away from the constant haggling that usually goes along buying a new car. I figured if I have the assess ahead of time, then I can make my deal. Thanks.

Wealthy with the 2006 model year I think $24,000 is about sound for one off a dealer lot with the options you are interested in. You may do a little better from a secluded seller. You will get an even better deal on an E500 because their prices are discouraged because of fuel economy concerns. Good luck!
