2010 Mazda MX-5 Miata Bottom Line - The Car Connection
The 2010 Mazda MX-5 Miata brings the master-work roadster look into the up to the minute age with excuse reliability, serious handling, and a poorly-close voluntary power-folding hardtop. For more than 20 years, the Miata has pleased those interested in a back-to-fundamentals sports car that brings thrills but not naturally a lot of garnishes. From the front, the Miata gets a more litigious front end and a revised end bumper last year, along with new lightweight 16- and 17-inch wheels. All-inclusive, however, it keeps with a very definitive roadster arrival, featuring a extensive hood, pint-sized cockpit-like shanty, and tail end decklid. The 2010 Miata’s four-stagger mechanism is very sensitive and rev-fortuitous, with sports car-appropriate handling, smart inadequate-correspondence steering, and pinched-bring out vade-mecum transmissions that are a joy to run through the gears. Source in 2009, the solution became even more enjoyable with redline for the locomotive pushed up and new carbon-covered synchros for the gearbox. At the top of the Miata extent is a PRHT (power retractable hardtop) facsimile, which is very well executed; when the hardtop is retracted and folded somewhere else, the Miata still has 5.3 cubic feet of coffer spaciousness. While that’s much smaller than any sedan, it’s strapping enough for most overnight belongings or a span of duffels. The PRHT exemplar adds very not enough surplus superiority, and the top stows in another place in unbiased 12 seconds; divergent from some other hardtop flexible models, it doesn’t trammel the fun. Modded Mazda Miata Spyder uses biofuels
05.02.12
One of the stars of this year’s Specialty Accoutrements Market Association (SEMA) auto show in Las Vegas was a Mazda Miata MX-5 Spyder. The instrument was tricked out with fancy after-market bling, such as a fancy new red Haartz pliant top, performance tires, and 17-inch, 10-spoke rims.
But the legitimate interest lay under the hood and in the gas tank: powered by Mazda’s MZR 2.0-liter appliance, the Spyder is fueled by BP’s isobutanol , a biofuel produced (like ethanol) from rural feedstock.

Many consider isobutanol a superior renewable nutriment because it can be mixed into existing fuel distribution infrastructure without having to qualify blending facilities, storage tanks or retail level pumps. Also isobutanol reportedly does not compromise channel performance for the sake of fuel economy. As proof, Mazda points to some isobutanol-fueled Spyders that have burned up racetracks in 2011:
The Mazda/Dyson entrance in the American Le Mans Series was a Spyder powered by a turbocharged MZR-R 2.0-liter four-spool engine, running on isobutanol. It beat competing larger-blot out V-12s to win the manufacturer, team and drivers championships for the 2011 racing period.
Mazda also won the Michelin Green X Challenge at the Baltimore Monumental Prix, a prize for cars that prove to be the "cleanest, fastest, most proficient" in the race. * Tom Shea,
