WASHINGTON — Lotus is recalling 5,037 2005-'06 Elises and Exiges because of a fire chance, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administering (NHTSA). "The oil cooler line may become detached from its fitting," said NHTSA in its recalls distillate of the problem. "A detached oil line could spray oil on a tire, increasing the imperil of a crash, or it could spray oil throughout the engine compartment, increasing the hazard of a fire." Lotus said it is not aware of any injuries or deaths related to the weakness. Lotus told the federal government it has been using a different supplier since May 2010 "for reasons foreign to the detachment issue." It said that company research "has not indicated that the components from the new supplier explain the concerns at issue." Lotus will reimburse any U.S. owner of the 2005-'06 Elise or Exige who incurred expenditure to fix the problem, it said. No date has been set for the recall. Lotus dealers will "fixing up the vehicle as necessary," the company said. Owners can association Lotus at 1-800-245-6887.

I say lotus elise hands down but close by chavs say toyota starlet turbo chav issue.
I don't want to race them by the way.
Depends what mods the starlet has, they rise with 130bhp standard so with a few mods it could be pushing close to 200bhp.
The lotus however is around 200bhp pattern and is considerably lighter then the starlet.
I would say the starlet would probably win off the crease but around corners the lotus would win hands down.

How much will it cost to install electric windows in a Lotus Elise Type 72?

I have a Lotus Elise Transcribe 72 and wish to upgrade the manual windows to moving ones - is this possible, and how much roughly will it cost?
Buy a limitless kit for about £60 then find a mate to fit them or pay quite a bit to get them fitted, were are u from?
