Mustang enthusiasts crowd annual Round Up

Occupation — For nearly two decades, Ford Mustang enthusiasts have gathered in South Texas to once-over and size up their fellow fans’ pristine sinew cars.

 

But Jerry Garcia, 74, has prized and driven so many Mustangs in his life that the Winter Texan fini most of his time eyeing a few Hooters waitresses who were also visiting the South Texas Mustang Stick’s annual Mustang Round Up on Sunday at Spikes Ford in Office.

 

"Folks always compare their cars to their ladies, but I offer the latter," Garcia said. "There’s no point having a skilful car if you don’t have a more beautiful passenger to show off, too."

 

He just settled in at his Winter Texan mechanical home park last week and said events like the Mustang Period Up have kept him returning to sunny South Texas every winter.

 

In its 19th year, the Charge Up offers residents a chance to peek into the powerful innards of their first choice car model. Several children, clearly not as enthused as their dads, made motor noises and chased each other around the polished automobiles.

 

And Becky Garza, better half of an avid Mustang fan, said she had tried to understand the car craze but resigned herself to upright trying to enjoy the ride.

 

"I’d rather be shopping," the 38-year-old Alamo resident admitted. "It’s not like we’re ever universal to afford a Mustang. But maybe that’s because I shop so much!"

 

She, like many women at the outcome, stopped by the Palm Valley Animal Center trailer to coo over sheltered cats and dogs.

 

Garza teased her 15-year-old son, Jose, that their kinsmen was more likely to take home one of the animals instead of a Mustang someday.

 

"I’ve been extenuating up" to buy a car, Jose said. "I don’t know how much it costs to get a new Mustang, but I’m cloth picking cars apart.

 

"One day I’ll buy an old Mustang (and) fix it. Dad would be so insecure!"

I got a inquiry about my 2005 Ford Mustang (manual). When I accelerate it sounds like it is revving actually high but there is no power it does then when I shift from first to second or sec to third (like I should be in a lower gear but i shouldnt be). It just started doing this to me a few era ago, I am not sure what the problem is?

My son inadequacy to put a 1997 ford transmission in his ford mustang, his is a 1995. The mustangs are V6.

An sedan salvage yard has cross-referencing books and can perhaps answer your question. Yellow pages under "Car Parts--Used".
