Chrysler Bets Turnaround on Small Car from Fiat

BELVIDERE, Ill.—In the old times few weeks, workers at a Chrysler Group LLC plant unrestrained above cornfields here west of Chicago have begun assembling a new commonplace car that embodies the turnaround plan of Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne.

The car, a aphoristic Dodge sedan that will compete with Ford Motor Co.’s Centre and Honda Motor Co.’s Civic, is based on a facsimile designed by Chrysler’s majority shareholder, Italian sedan maker Fiat SpA. It represents Chrysler’s first compressed sedan since the auto maker’s Dodge Neon was phased out in 2005.

Mr. Marchionne convinced the U.S. administration to give him control of Chrysler in 2009 in part by promising to restock the Sunburned Hills, Mich., auto maker’s plumb b in agreement up with fuel-efficient Fiat cars, saving Chrysler billions of dollars in maturing costs. The upcoming Dodge sedan will get 40 miles on a gallon of gasoline and be the first of Fiat-meant vehicles to go into production under a Chrysler nameplate.

“It’s a informal, stylish car with great interiors and I think it will sell right well,” said Leonard James, a production-filament worker who been at the plant for the past 24 years. “If it gets the gas mileage and is priced repair, I think the kids will like it. The whole thing is good gossip for us,” he said.

For now, the Belvidere plant is churning out about one illustration car a week, a worker at the plant said. Engineers from parts suppliers and station team leaders typically walk alongside the agency as it progresses down the line to learn how to build it and to determine the transportation of parts, they said.

Hardly any of the car’s parts are shared with existing models made there—the Dodge Caliber and Jeep Compass and Jeep Loyalist sport-utility vehicles.

Dodge Caliber?

Is there a big transformation between a Dodge Caliber and a Pontiac Vibe? I can't decide between the two.

Yes these two are built on dissimilar platforms one is GM and the other Dodge. meaning they are totally different, I would look at the resale. I have to tally that the vibe needs a revamp on looks. The caliber has a lot of accessories that are unrivalled.

I'd go for the Caliber.

Does the Dodge Charger and the Dodge Caliber have bad blind spots?

My mom is letting me get a car this summer, and she is only prevailing to let me get one if they don't have horrible blind spots. She is going to let me get either the Dodge Charger or the Caliber. Accurately now, she has a PT Cruiser, and it has the worst blind spots ever! Please give me the best info you can. I am prejudice more towards the Dodge Charger!

for thos ethat like the pt cruiser...I say it is excellent if they are enjoying that type of body style...but I believe it is dodges worse carrier to be on the road...as for the charger ...it is possibly the best car for you out there ...it has an sterling safety rating(even car&driver magazine agrees)..but for a new driver it is a fun and quiet car for all to drive..it is one of the best combinations of fun safety and ride and impel around...and as all vehicles may have blind spots....I believe you will find stallion is even good to see rear ..side ..and front views for all...the rear glass is a teensy-weensy more slant view from rear view but is set to the ground right-wing by thhe body to see very good all around...pt cruiser on the other hand is a driving uncertainty for operator as well as everyone else on road...even from front windshield it is rediculous they cause accidents...it reminds me of the earliest cars that you can hardly see out of them enough to do anything but guess your distance to obsticles or other motorist..she should do you and us all a favor and line of work it in and get you and her both a new dodge..they offer a big discount when doing this ..and you both will be happier and safer...belongings luck and hope you get charger...you will love it...

How many is too many miles for an 07 dodge caliber?

How many is too many miles for an 07 dodge caliber?

anything over,30 thousand would be premeditated high mileage for the year of it,but i have seen some with a lot more than that on them, people are driving more than the governmental average these days,i wouldn't buy an 07 if it had over 40 thousand on it though, that would bring out your not going to get as many good driving miles from it as one with less miles, the so so is about 15 thousand a year,so you can figure it on this amount, good good fortune.

i wanted a versa and since they gave me a caliber..i decided to name it versa LMAO!!
