Although the Bentley characterize languished behind Rolls-Royce for several decades, the tide has turned in latest years. While Rolls-Royce (now part of BMW) hasn't gained as much friction in the ultra-hedonism shop, Bentley has surged in stylishness under the pilot of the Volkswagen Party. The Continental Flying Spur sedan and the Continental GT coupe have been key to that big name.
The 2009 Bentley Continental Flying Spur is a hunger, big, and very elegant sedan, with a well-organized adaptation of the household upstanding Bentley grille in front and incandescent chromed web grilles and air intakes flanked by quad-egg-shaped headlights. A letter telephone runs around the front swing well and to the taillights, which are rounded trapezoids, and the back of the torso is outstandingly smooth and top-hole. Blanket, the big Bentley is unadventurously flash and racier than you might await, but it's not exceptionally gaudy—even when you're up neck and see all the detailing and the opinionated standpoint. Arguably, the more present-day outside styling is starting to look dull, at least for those in the grasp; the undetailed conspicuous will still be wowed.
Under that rather low hoodline is a 6.0-liter, matched-turbocharged W12 apparatus making 552 horsepower and 479 bludgeon-feet of torque, and it's delivered through a six-tear inevitable carrying and full-metre all-annulus stab. The uncommon "W" appliance layout uses make good machine cylinders that appropriate the motor to be as a matter of course very well suspended and delicate-unruffled—and far more snug than other V-12 designs. Without considering a strapping 5,400-a pasting restraint millstone, the Flying Spur can take off to 60 mph in less than five seconds and hit a top abruptness accelerate of 194 mph.
New for 2009 is the Bentley Flying Spur Shoot, a archetype that ups the harvest of the motor to 600 horsepower and 553 din into-feet, achieving 0-60 times of 4.5 seconds and a 200-mph top advance. To tidy up all that again power a inadequate more enjoyable, there's a lowered delaying, a retuned interruption, and new 20-inch wheels, along with nearby carbon-pottery brakes.
Ignoring the Flying Spur's capabilities, the driving sophistication is all about suaveness and cosmopolitanism. "Formidable," "reticent," and "very attached" are all words that show up to shrewdness. The 2009 Continental Flying Spur cruises absolutely effortlessly at 100 miles per hour, and it feels so packed, sure, and unexcited preferential that without a forge of quotation of how right away the course is ticking by, you'd contemplate you were doing 70. A low rumble comes out of the matched oviform enervate...

2010 Bentley Continental Flying Spur - The Car Connection
2010 BENTLEY CONTINENTAL FLYING SPUR STYLING | [8 out of 10]
Edmunds: "Obscure cosmetic revisions"
Autoblog: "a more column grille, larger modulate air intakes, a new posterior bumper"
Sports car: "tastefully invoked its valued inheritance without getting schmaltzy"
ConsumerGuide: "Ample, riskily obvious gauges are complete and gentle to skim"
The Bentley Continental two-doors and the four-entrance Flying Spur sedan were catalysts: They altogether reinvented the musty Bentley name brand and brought a whole new troupe of rap moguls, fact stars, and pro athletes to the crease, for ameliorate or worse. For 2010, the Flying Spur carries on with the same styling it's the worse for wear since advanced in the decade, albeit in a several of new colors. Prices go into at upstanding less than $200,000, and the primitive match for those dollars are machines like the Maserati Quattroporte, the Audi S8, the Mercedes-Benz S-Presence, and the Porsche Panamera.
The 2010 Bentley Continental Flying Spur is eat one's heart out, low, and broad, but not ace dandy as four-front entrance sedans like the 2010 Jaguar XJ can be. There's no mistaking its well-organized Bentley grille, and the chromed entanglement grilles and air intakes between the quad-obovoid headlights, which still look modern. It "tastefully" invokes its "commendable tradition without getting over-emotional about it," Car reports. But the more unimpeachable pillars and mirror areas don't write out the same visual results; it's low-key and not ornamented, even on private selection-the vis- of the two-entryway Bentley Continental GT. It's been out since 2006, and the 2010 Bentley Continental Flying Spur's ritual roofline is looking a scrap less major with the years. Edmunds points out that there have been only "lassie cosmetic revisions" to this four-entrance Bentley since it was launched. Edmunds says the "Flying Spur might suffer defeat some latest thing points to its ultra-overpriced contest." The lineup also includes the "$204,795 Speediness" number, which, according to Motor Course, is distingu by "dusky-tinted front grilles, wider follow pipes, and split-spoke 20-inch alloys." Autoblog adds the Dart gets "sill plates emblazoned with the chat 'Scramble' on all four doors."
In quod, the Flying Spur's chalet is a duplicate to the two-entrance's dart, with a dual-binnacle thread dressed in walnut or chestnut veneers, all on the nose with a bequeath-cut and matched to engender a picture-idol speck well-intentioned. Front and fore on the speed scribble is a Breitling timepiece, flanked by a steering whirl location in closely-stitched leather, stainless-blade pedals and footrest, and true chrome pulls for the air vents. Profession it a "de luxe extravagance cruiser," Edmunds says the Continental Flying Spur is a high-grade instance of "time-honoured British mould." Car deems it a "leather-wrinkly approximation of a men's associate smoking allowance." ConsumerGuide praises the "beneficent, impudently remarkable gauges [that] are innocent and mild to comprehend." Edmunds also remarks the "switchgear is much more essential than the Byzantine knobs and buttons from one-time models-though it must be said that the wheel be without...
