BMW M3 DTM Champion Edition celebrates BMW's racing success ...
by Stephen Edelstein

The M3 DTM Hero Copy celebrates BMW's predominance of the German Touring Car Masters contention series. There’s nothing like giving yourself a pat on the back, and that’s correctly what BMW is doing with its latest peculiar version. The M3 DTM Advocate Version celebrates, of class, BMW’s tyranny of the approved DTM get a move on series. DTM stands for Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, or German Touring Car Masters. It’s Germany’s peer of NASCAR, with cars that look indefinitely like manufacture sedans and coupes universal disc-to-place on the stalk. Like NASCAR, the series attracts Means 1 alums (including Mikka Hakkinen and David Coulthard), but the tracks do have both fist and unhesitatingly turns. The 2012 ready was BMW’s first solemn year of DTM game since 1994, but the Bavarians were competent to get back in the striation totally fast. BMW won the industrialist’s championship and the plant-sponsored BMW Band Schnizter was the top together, with driver Bruno Spengler charming the driver’s championship. To wassail, BMW is giving customers a occasion likelihood to own Spengler’s car, not up to snuff of. The M3 DTM Promote Copy is a fixture M3 dressed up to look like that championship-conquering racecar. It comes layered in Snowy Sombre matte colouring, the latest in BMW’s “Icy” furrow of matte finishes, with an M tricolor racing slash contest over the carbon wool roof and onto the decklid. A few kicker decals, matte hellish wheels, and a society kit spheroidal out the foreign changes. On the in prison is a carbon yarn slim what for signed by Spengler and endurance the car’s serial numbers, along with entry sill plates modeled after the driver’s helmet. The steering whirl location is immersed in Alcantara, while the snooze of the uplands gets jet-black Novillo leather and Palladium Greyish-white fit as a fiddle. Spengler’s DTM car has a 4.0-liter V8, which produces 480 horsepower. However, M3 DTM Backer Number Buyers will have to change due with the roots M3’s 414 hp. The DTM Stand up for Copy comes with mountains of other options, though, including the M DCT dual-power involuntary enchiridion movement, M driver’s package, steering, excited seats, and parking sensors. One unexcelled looks is the BMW M Enchantment Nordschliefe program, a two-day training order at Germany’s egregious Nürburgring Nordschliefe chase that includes some lessons from Spengler himself. That might be the most talented part of the great amount because, like most significant editions, the M3 DTM Winner Issue is more about exclusivity than right specialness. And it will be select: BMW is only making 54 copies, none of which will get to the U.S. The car will go on marketing in Germany and other markets speedily for around $130,000. It will also be one of the last versions of the accepted M3; a new construct based on the F30 3 Series/4 Series is forthcoming before you know it.

Bryan Sellers battles BCKSTGR BMW from back of CTSCC pack to second-place
18.06.13
First-rate-AM's Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge (CTSCC) events always offer intense competition and a little bit of controversy. The Continental Weaken Sports Car Festival presented by Mazda on September 8 offered all of that for Bryan Sellers ... twice! The Braselton, Ga.-neighbouring took the second-stint behind the wheel of the No. 46 BCKSTGR/Prisoner-Line Motorsports BMW M3 after teammate Mark Boden (Winnetka, Ill.) started the car 21st. Once behind the at, Sellers charged through the field to take the lead, then fell back to 14th after a handicap but never gave up. He battled back to second as the checkered flag flew at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (MRLS) in Monterey, Calif. It was the subordinate podium finish for the Falken Tire factory driver in the CTSCC this spice. "The CTSCC races are always full of action and full of drama. This race was no bizarre. Laguna Seca is a very difficult track to pass on but we were superior to move the BCKSTGR/Fall-Line BMW through the field better than I expected. There is always some rough treatment and banging that happens and that is what makes these races so difficult yet so much fun to urge as well as to watch. Everybody at Fall-Line has done such a great job this year and we have been honest short of the top step on the podium a few times. I know how inadequately everyone wants to end the season on a high note at Lime Escarpment. We will pull out all the stops and focus on outright speed in the track horse-races and hope we can convert it into a win" stated Sellers . The 2.238-mile, 11-turn over road course on the Monterey Peninsula may be one the most popular circuits on the earmark but it is also one of the most challenging. When MRLS is coupled with the massive fields and eager competition of the CTSCC, the BCKSTGR/Fall-Line Motorsports enterprise had its work cut out. Starting deep in the GS class field would be the first summons when Sellers took over the wheel of the No. 46 with approximately two hours of the two-hour, 30-one sec race remaining. Within 20 minutes of taking enjoin of the BCKSTGR BMW, Sellers was running fourth. Less than 10 minutes later, the former show wheel-racing champion made the pass for second-pad. He would inherit the lead as pit stop rotations began. "Fortunately, barging through the battleground doesn't drain you too much until it is all over with. When you're coming through the field you have no time to characterize as about anything other than the job at hand. It keeps you very focused" Sellers added. Sellers would engage the lead until being penalized for passing the pace car on a restart with one-hour, 15-mintues to go, plunging him to 14th. He was not the only driver to face the wrath of GRAND-AM official as interchangeable penalties also dropped two other leaders late in the race from the top-soil. Not to be denied one of the best runs of his career, Sellers without hesitation went back on the attack. With just over 30 minutes surviving, he had worked his way back into the top-four. Penalties would now play a positive role for Sellers as he gained a situation, moving into third, as another driver served his penitence for the same infraction. On the last lap, as the leaders fitting in front of him made contact, Sellers snuck through to capture second-task returning him to the podium.

bmw m3????
Jun 11, 2007 by Braydon D | Posted in BMW
I continue in southwestern ontario and i need to know where to buy a 2005 bmw m3 and also how much it is, hp, etc.
If you are buying a m3 for hp and swiftness then look for a different car. I spend almost every weekend at the track and the m3's are very over rated as far as sort out line speed goes. They have a 333hp V6 and are very expensive to modulate. In stock form they run around a 13.5 at the track. Even with very expensive superchargers, squander, cai, tune, and tires, they dont break the 12.5's. Now if you are buying a car that does well at cornering rush, looks awsome, has a awsome interior, and is one of the overall coolest cars around in my belief then the m3 is the car for you. I just know a lot of people at the track are extremely disapointed in there composed line speed and expected a 12 second car. Now, the 08's that are comming out will have a 400hp v8 appliance that should be a high 12 second stock 1/4 mile car, look out!!

Why does the 2008 BMW M3 use a sliding caliper for the brakes ?
Jan 31, 2009 by bigblackgto2006 | Posted in BMW
Why does the 2008 BMW M3 use a sliding caliper for the brakes in preference to of a fixed caliper like most costly vehicles. IE Brembos. Is it for payment or utlilty?
I will provoke you answer your question yourself by describing to you how a "sliding" and a "unfluctuating" caliper works.
Remember that the brake rotor which is relevant to the wheel is acted upon by two brake pads, one on each side. In a BMW just like most cars, there is only one plunger that pushes one brake pad. So the whole caliper moves/floats/self-adjusts so that both slow pads can act on the rotor and stop the car.
In cars with fixed calipers there are pistons on both sides of the calipers. Some even have 2 pistons on each side. So the calipers do not demand to self-adjust.
Obviously, the ones with more pistons expense more and are very slightly better in braking power. But being more complex and with more components they are also more apt to break down and costlier to maintain.
So did BMW try to save some money? Take it yourself.

How do I properly use the launch control feature in my 2002 BMW m3 with SMG?
Feb 27, 2008 by Bob S | Posted in BMW
I a moment ago purchased a bmw m3 with smg.
I heard that this car has launch control, a bit limited in US, but its still there. Does anyone identify how to use this? I have the sport button, smg control, and a dsc button. Also have the paddle shifters, and am driving good-looking good with them now.
Also, I understand that this may be bad for the tranny, but I still want to know how to do it.
Thanks to all!
There are 2 dig programs for your particular car's SMG.
1) A-Mode, automated, from A1 (starts in 2nd apparatus for
snowy roads) to A5 (sporty)
2) S-Mode, sequential shifting, from S1 (tranquil dynamic)
to S5 (sporty), and as a special feature, S6 (super
casual).
I think you are interested in knowing about S6 which is also called "growth boost". To use S6, DSC must be turned off, and the S6 program must be active. The market lever must now be pushed forward and the accelerator pedal discouraged. The acceleration boost is performed as soon as the shift lever is released. Further tackle shifts are done manually.
Furthermore, there are 2 types of S6 boost. The "racing start"
and the "burnout" look, both of which are extremely harmful to the clutch and to the whole drivetrain.
Depressing the accelerator slowly to the prostrate activates racing start. This means fastest growth without wheelspin (due to the computer comparing front and rear wheel speeds). Somber the pedal quickly to the floor activates burnout fad after the shift lever is released. This can be dangerous since the rear of the car can made irregular due to extreme wheelspin.
Burnout mode can be bad not only for the car but also for the driver. Tool the same at your own risk (perhaps in a race track, or an empty rural airport?).
