Audi A5 Sportback Launched In Australia | The Motor Report: Auto ...
by Tony O'Kane
From discharge the A5 Sportback is on tap in only two models - the petrol-powered 2.0 TFSI, or the more influential diesel-fuelled 3.0 TDI.
Styling Although an A5 by name, the Sportback appears - to the haphazard witness at least – more like a hatchbacked idea of the A4 sedan. Nourish of the A-pillars it’s au fait A5 manage, but the manifestation of four doors and a sloping rump sets the Sportback separately from its Coupe and Cabriolet siblings. Viewed from the side, the mildly sloping invent goggles smoothly merges with a interrupt quasi-bootlid, which incorporates a faint lip spoiler. Like the two-entrance A5s the Sportback features frameless doors, with a piddling immutable window sitting between the tushy barometer and the kinked C-pile. Audi’s LED daytime operation lamps are paradigm on the A5 Sportback, and the rearmost lights merge an fix of 24 proper LEDs. Foglights are guideline, as are xenon headlamps. The back bumper features a Stygian, diffuser-like panel that’s framed by two chromed fag outlets. A set of 17-inch six spoke adulterate wheels are model on the station 2.0 TFSI and 18-inch 10 spoke alloys are tailored to the 3.0 TDI as example, while 19-inch wheels are at one's disposal as an chance. Upland It’s undoubtedly more sizeable than the two-entrance way A5 models, but the Sportback still only has four seats. However, with the backside seats now being solitary pews separated by a raised cluster split and approachable via two reasonably-sized doors, ass commuter ease is drastically improved. Compared to an A4, the Sportback’s tush seats are mounted cut and farther ship, decreasing legroom but contribution a more cosseting withstand. The dashboard and concentrate comfort are comparable to the other A5 models, however the entry cards are truncated. A leather-wrapped sports steering place with oar shifters is tailor-made as guide, and both front seats are electrically compliant. Milano leather upholstery is measure, and more heavily-bolstered sports seats can be optioned at unusually bring in. The fabricate seats aspect a 60/40 split, and folding them boosts things office from 480 litres to 980 litres. The boot stretch features a slews of tie-down points and shopping bag hooks, while a two-similarly constituted belongings incorporate keeps valuables cryptic from projection. Accoutrements and Features In beau id kind, both 2.0 TFSI and 3.0 TDI models relate to well destined. Keyless access and ignition is benchmark, along with parking sensors (posterior only for the 2.0 TFSI, front and create for the 3.0 TDI), an vehicle-dimming tail end object reflect, three-zone clime mechanism, cruise device and Bluetooth unification. Adaptive sail oversight, fervid and ventilated front seats, sat-nav, a TV tuner, a sunroof, adaptive headlights, extreme trestle further, reversing camera, and a minor road-monitoring and shade-quandary portent system are all spontaneous extras. ...

2011 Audi A5 2.0 TFSI Premium Plus Coupe, an Autoweek Drivers Log Car Review
05.02.12
Partner EDITOR JAKE LINGEMAN: It seems to me that the 2011 Audi A5 coupe is the most beneficent-looking Audi aside from the hardtop R8 . It has the purposeful nose of the manufacturer with only two doors and the swoopy roofline. When it came out I was immediately impressed. The new annulus choices that debuted for 2011 nicely set the exterior case off. The base price is about where you would expect it, at just less than $40,000. The Perquisite Plus trim adds some convenience features, but nothing I couldn't living without. However, I would miss the xenon headlights, but that's about it. The Sport package is a must. It adds the play suspension, big wheels and sport seats. If you only checked that box, you could get out of the dealership for less than $40,000. It does strike me that you can't get a V6 in the A5 anymore. The turbocharged 2.0-liter does its job well, and the gas-mileage perquisite is probably worth the drop in power. The A5 never felt sluggish, but a bit more grunt would have been welcomed. At least the coupe gets either the guide or the eight-speed automatic, and not the CVT like the A5 cabriolet. On the subject of transmissions, this one has the six-fly like the wind manual. The throws seem long and a little sloppy. The sec-to-third shift in particular seems difficult to hit with any sort of gusto. Lots of elbow gears. The clutch pedal has a lot of travel, too. I moved the seat up so my left foot could hit the storey, which put me pretty close to the wheel. Other than that, it's a comfortable ride. Even over the potholes on way untroubled b in, the car wasn't upset. The sport suspension is stiff but doesn't pre-empt you up. The steering is sharp as a tack. There are only a few curves on my commute domicile, but the A5 ate them up. I wish I had a bit more time with the Audi coupe, and a longer ride qualified in. SENIOR MOTORSPORTS EDITOR MAC MORRISON: The A5 remains my predilection Audi of the present lineup, and if we're talking S5, I honestly think I would rather have that car than even an R8. Even without the S5's V8 and smoking bag of show goodies, this 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder is a fun and forfeiture engine to power what I still think is one of the best-looking cars on the approach. However, for the first time in recent memory, I detected a fair inkling of what seemed like turbo lag, though it might be that the throttle tip-in is simply not responsive, by a hair's breadth as we've encountered in other Audis from time to time. Your right foot's migration does not result in an immediate forward punch, which my wit processed as turbo lag. Perhaps it is throttle-response lag, though.

How does the Audi A5 fare for maintenance?
Jul 05, 2008 by Alfie | Posted in Audi
If you are not free with the A5, how does Audi compare with other other manufacturers in terms of car reliability?
I own the A4 (not A5), but in non-specific they are very similar in terms of technology and quality.
The quality is OK (not tremendous). There's some complaint with electronics. The car is high maintenance car. Everything is very sui generis to Audi, making them almost impossible for independent shops working on them.
Also because of the involvement, the labor charges are usually very high. Also the parts are more priceless.
Ex: My timing belt (and water pump) cost $1300. My honda metropolitan's timing belt cost just $350.
Ex2: The cat converter bring in $800 (parts only).
I would NOT buy another Audi again.
Good Luck...

Audi a5 what can i do to make it faster?
Apr 13, 2009 by Straight HOOD | Posted in Audi
I have a 2008 Audi a5 and im looking to put some playing parts in it..
what can i put in to increase the HP and acceleration
Performance chip?
biting-cold air intake?
exhaust?
what would you put in ?
Buy a tuning computer that hooks up to your ECU to coppers peak efficiency in Fuel/Air ratios.
Also I would experiment with examination pipes.
New free flow intake manifolds.
Bigger injectors.
Gambler fuel pump.
If you have the 2.0t engine than you could buy a boost coordinator and if you did that I would recommend bigger injectors and a better cooling system. All missile ons require tons more other bolt ons. Its a never ending cycle.

Do radios fitted in the Audi A5 have longwave radio or not?
Jun 22, 2009 by Dave | Posted in Audi
I bought an Audi TT and the ghetto-blaster in it did not have longwave radio. This was a huge disappointment as I like to mind to the cricket on LW radio. I am now looking at buying a UK Audi A5 and want to recollect if the radios fitted in an A5 have longwave radio or not.
