Mercedes-Benz SLS Roadster review
07.02.12
What is it? Drop away-top version of Merc's awesome gullwing-doored SLS coupe, the SLS Roadster allows you to satisfaction in both fresh air and the V8 engine's full vocal repertoire.
What's it like to pressurize? Awesomely capable but with the ability to intimidate the unwary or immature.
Underneath that vast bonnet lies a 6.2-litre V8 that produces 563bhp, 479lb ft and a yell that would have made even the space shuttle sound a bit effeminate.
The sound is barely the prelude to a level of performance that ranges from eye-opening to gut-wrenching depending on how far you tighten your right ankle.
The 0-62mph dash disappears in moral 3.8 seconds, and not too long after you'll hit the top speed of 197mph. It's flaxen-haired to say that straight-line pace is not an issue.
Neither are corners. The SLS was meant from the start as a coupe and soft-top, so any potential body wobbles were engineered out from the genesis.
The Roadster feels truly vast no matter how fast you're wayfaring, but it corners with a fleetness that belies its vast dimensions. The steering is lively, but not too quick, and that long nose follows your instructions bang on.
Grip is strong, but if you get on the throttle too hard, traction isn't. The resolve system always gathers everything up, though.
There is a downside to all this unexpected agility, and it's the fact that the postponement has to be so firm to keep that vast body in check. While this is acceptable (moral) in the coupe model, it isn't what you want in a roadster. Sometimes you just want to get the roof down, sit back and voyage, but the SLS never allows you to do this, bouncing, jolting and fidgeting from bump to do away with. It's bad enough to make you actively avoid bad surfaces when you should have no need to.
What's it like internal? Chopping off the roof has meant doing away with the coupe's show-stopping gullwing doors, but the upside of this is that you get to down down the roof in just 11 seconds and enjoy the full al wall painting experience.
The interior certainly feels well put together, and there's decent align for the driver and passenger, but the presence of switches and dials that come forth in a £29k E-Class is a bit jarring.
The view out is also severely compromised, first to the rear. The driver and passenger sit low in the car, and the rear deck is altogether high, which means you can only just see

does the 2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster comes in automatic transmission?
May 22, 2007 by ahmed a | Posted in Other - Car Makes
Yes...
According to this cull out from Edmunds.com:
"The Roadster, like the coupe, is available with a selection of two transmissions. The six-speed manual transaxle is familiar and offers a express, positive and satisfying shift action. New to the V8 is the Sportshift choice, which uses an automated sequential gearbox with shift paddles mounted on the steering ring, the same ZF-built unit also featured in the DB9."

Difference between Roadster and Coupe?
Apr 04, 2009 by I want to be 165 xD | Posted in Other - Car Makes
I am looking at an Aston Martin V8 Vantage and was wondering why the roadster expense more than the coupe. There are no differences in HP or cylinder or mpg. Why is it more expensive?
I noticed that the coupe has a hardtop and roadster looks like a flexible. Doesn't the coupe have a hardtop convertible?
Convertibles are more sought after than coupes, impress on the memory more of their value, and are almost sure to be a collector item, especially on a great in extent end car. What you don't see is the engineering and creative thought put into cutting the roof, a important structural component, off a car and having it still perform well and be safe. While they may look the same, underneath they have a lot of notable differences. Desirability and engineering is where the difference is.

Which Aston Martin is the best car?
Oct 20, 2007 by Early.Sunsets.Over.Belleville. | Posted in Other - Car Makes
I True-love the V12 Vanquish, but I"m not sure if that's the car I want to buy.
Which one is the best?
DBS, DB9, V8 Vantage, V8 Vantage Roadster, or V12 Vanquish?
The V8 Vantage is the slowest, weakest, and cheapest Aston, but i like it the richest. I think it looks the best. It goes from 0-60 in 4.9 seconds and has a top shoot of 175mph.
